Gospel Shoes originally launched in 2022 to encourage East Devon Christians in the workplace to thrive and to witness their faith through living and telling. Everyone is welcome to be part of our group, whether they are in paid and voluntary employment or are retired. This has never been a group for leaders only, but for all people. We all have a part to play in sharing the Good News of Jesus with those who don’t have a personal relationship with Him.

One of our purposes continues to be to support, equip and release Christians in the workplace through prayer, networking, coaching and training. This could be 1 to 1, at a group meeting, a training session or conference. We also offer to pray for sent requests.

In February 2023 we launched a new ministry to prayer walk weekly in Exmouth town centre. Our focus is to pray for businesses – for God’s peace and favour to see businesses and their workers to thrive. As this is evolving we have started to build relationships with owners and their staff through engaging with them through conversations. We seek to find out if there are specific needs for our prayers.

An offshoot of the prayer walks has been our social times in various cafes around the town centre following the prayer walks. We have become a close knit group who look forward to going out each week and we welcome others to join the fun.

Our group has many experienced Christians from six East Devon Churches who are available to support others. Gospel Shoes will be encouraging and training them to support workers in their churches. We are committed to supporting churches and if you are retired with time on your hands, God can use you in this way. We also give support to those who are talking and praying with non Christians.

The group meet to worship, network, pray and share testimony on the last Thursday of every month either at the Old Gospel Hall, Hamilton Road, Exmouth from 7:30pm or at a home. Additionally in partnership with Church@Work we meet on the first Friday of the month at Open Door, Exmouth at 7:30am to share and pray with each other. These ongoing meetings are supplemented by special events and 1 to 1 sessions as requested. From the outset we have asked God to lead us in developing this hub and consequently it will continue to evolve.
