We are pleased to be back after our Summer break with an in-person meeting at Toby Carvery with our special guest, Adam Fleet of ActionCOACH Exeter. This will take place on Friday 15th September 2023 at 8 am at Toby Carvery, Middlemoor.
Adam has helped many businesses thrive over the years in various roles. He will share how Christian businesspeople can overcome storms by faith, drawing on his personal testimony. Don’t miss this opportunity to fellowship with like-minded believers and encourage each other.
Adam aims to support the business community in Devon and beyond by putting world-class coaching within everybody’s reach. As a Christian of many years, he has seen God provide for him and others in miraculous ways. He will share some of his testimony of overcoming obstacles in his talk at Toby Carvery.
We look forward to sharing a hearty breakfast with you as we gather in person! This makes a refreshing change to our Zoom meetings, although we will miss our colleagues who don’t live in Exeter.
Adam Fleet – Building solid foundations for business success
Adam is a professional coach who has embarked on a mission to empower businesses throughout the Southwest. Born and raised in Plymouth, he developed a fascination with rocks, whether scaling cliffs or studying their geological intricacies. This passion fueled his pursuit of higher education, culminating in a BSc in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Plymouth.
So, if anyone knows the importance of a firm foundation it is Adam, and he relies fully on Jesus Christ as the rock of his salvation. Plus, part of being successful in business is building a secure foundation that will withstand the storms of life. We all know the Parable of the foolish man who built his house upon the sand while the wise man built his house upon the rock.
Jesus is that rock. “There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you: there is no Rock like our God.” (1 Samuel 2:2).
Adam Fleet – from geologist to accredited business coach
Having graduated from Uni, Adam relocated to London, where he carved out a niche for himself as an Engineer Geologist. His expertise caught the attention of various environmental consultancies in the Southeast. Notably, he served as the Lead Engineer at the site of the London Olympic Games, overseeing the crucial ground investigation and subsequent construction phases of the Olympic Park. His adept handling of politically sensitive projects, including a significant endeavour at Heathrow Airport, earned him a reputation as a skilled project manager.
Following the 2008 financial crisis, Adam returned to the Southwest and joined Plymouth City Council, where he discovered a knack for strategic thinking. Aligning all activities with a single vision proved pivotal in making the city more efficient, a transformative approach that continues to bear fruit today.
In 2012, while serving as the Business Improvement District Manager in Tavistock, Adam founded the Tavistock Enterprise Hub, a people-focused small business center aimed at revitalising the High Street. His commitment to local entrepreneurship also led him to chair the Federation of Small Businesses, West Devon Branch, and become a Member of the Tavistock Town Council.
Adam is an accredited business coach who aims to make world-class coaching available to all businesspeople in the Southwest.
Adam felt the need to give back to the local community and this led him to work for Exeter YMCA for two years where he was a support worker for challenged young people, applying his compassion and business acumen. This experience inspired him to establish his own business, YOU 2.0 Life and Business consultancy.
This transition to coaching was influenced by his belief in the importance of building a solid foundation and his passion for helping businesspeople thrive. Combining his diverse life and business experiences, along with his geological and engineering knowledge, Adam began coaching several piling companies specialising in underpinning and foundations. Thinking back, this is another great metaphor of Adam’s ability to help entrepreners build a strong and lasting base.
In one particular piling company his guidance resulted in a remarkable outcome – an impressive turnover increase from £600K to £3.2 million. Adam hopes to achieve similar goals with his ActionCOACH clients, while also empowering Christian businesspeople to do more for the Kingdom.
Adam’s journey to ActionCOACH Exeter came through an encounter with one of our previous speakers, Al Whitmoor-Pryer who heads up Kingdom Business, an entrepreneurial hub at Rediscover Church. This connection ultimately led him to meet Andrew De Groot, owner of the ActionCOACH Franchise for Devon and Cornwall. Recognising their shared mission to bring world-class business coaching to the Southwest, Adam joined ActionCOACH Exeter.
Aside from his professional endeavors, Adam is a keen festival-goer and has visited many different Christian events including Creationfest in Cornwall and Christian Vision for Men (CVC) rallies. He is also an avid dancer. His enthusiasm for both business and dance reflects his passion for life and dedication to helping others succeed.
