Well-known singer-songwriter Andy Flannagan is our special guest speaker at CTN Southwest on Friday 16th June 2023. Join us at this in-person breakfast meeting at Toby’s Carvery, Middlemoor at 8 am.
Andy Flannagan is an Irish singer-songwriter who has a heart for social justice and transformation. In 2022 he led worship at the Houses of Parliament for The National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. This annual event recognises the contribution Christianity makes to the national life of the UK. You can watch the clip below of Andy’s song ‘We Seek Your Kingdom’.
Previously a hospital doctor Andy says his defining moment as an Irishman was captaining England’s Barmy Army during the Ashes in Australia. He also shares that his campaigning songwriting dragged him into the political arena and he is now also the Executive Director of Christians in Politics. The organisation aims to inspire and encourage Christians to participate in politics and public life.
Previously a resident of Luton, Andy and his family now live in Exeter.
“We are much privileged to have Andy Flannagan join us,” says Barrie Townsend of CTN Southwest. “Some of you would have met him when he was a guest at a previous CTN breakfast a few months back. Much hoping that you will be able to join us, please.”
We Seek Your Kingdom – Andy Flannigan
Andy Flannagan “is first and foremost a storyteller, weaving hope and pain into songs that soar with beautiful, poignant melodies that betray his Irish roots. His battered Lowden guitar tells the story of 15 years of acoustic minstrelling – at times mellow, but at times raging against all the things that break a broken world.” Click to read more about Andy Flannagan
